Maintenance - Electrical Technician

Compensation Following Training Period: $31.25 - 3rd shift hourly rate

Employment Type: Full-Time - 3rd Shift

Purpose:

  • To ensure machinery and equipment are functioning to provide customers with product, which consistently conforms to specification.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Recommend preventive actions.
  • Document repairs, modifications and consumption of inventory.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests for service
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman (Machine Repair or Millwright) or Associates Degree
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical repairs
  • Working knowledge of electronics, including industrial controls, PLCs and industrial power distribution.
  • Proficiency with MIG and oxy/gas welding
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent attendance
  • Willing to work any shift.

Hourly Production and Secondary - 2nd & 3rd Shift

Employment Type: Full-Time 

Compensation Following Training Period:  Range $19.60 - $25.05 - 3rd shift hourly rate based on position.

Employment Type: Full-Time - 3rd Shift

Seeking highly motivated individuals for 3rd shift operations. Operators will be tasked with performing a number of various duties including but not limited to:

End Welder – end welding of coils, loading coils with overhead / jib crane
Mill Operator – set up mill to customer specs
Cutoff Operator – Set up cutoff to required length
Offloading - hand stack steel tubing or ensure auto off loaders are off loading tube correctly
Mobile Equipment Operations - Forklift, sideloader, flat bed loaders, warehouse movement
Repacking and banding – repack bundles, pack, and / or band bundles according to customer requirements

Responsibilities:

*Ability to inspect and stack steel tubing. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
*Ability to use measuring devices to measure tubing
*Technical skill set to perform changeovers and set up
*Ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and productivity are being met
*Follow work instructions to produce tubing per customer specifications

REQUIREMENTS:
*Prior automotive manufacturing experienced preferred
*Excellent attendance record
*Excellent safety record
*Pre-Employment hair drug screen required

Job Type: Full-time
Starting Wage $17.50 with progression during 90 day probation to position wage with range of $19.60 thru $25.05

Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator

Employment Type: Full-Time - Non-Exempt Salaried

Mission: To proactively work with the hourly workforce and the AK Tube Management group to positively promote all aspects of the safety program.

Must be willing to work flexible shifts and weekends as required.

JOB DUTIES:  The principal duties listed below contain only the significant information necessary to evaluate the job, and shall not be construed as standard operating practice instructions, nor a description of all details inherent to the job.  The contents of this description shall not relieve an employee from performing related duties, which may from time to time be assigned by his/her supervisor.

 

  • Develops, coordinates, and supports the AK Tube Safety program and activities through safety contacts, planned observations, inspections, job safety and health analysis (JSHA’s), and housekeeping tours.  
  •  Assists shift supervisors in investigating and developing corrective actions for incidents with or without injury.
  • Train AK Tube and contractor personnel in all applicable safety requirements. 
  •  Assists with safety orientation for new employees or existing employees placed in new working environments.
  • Investigates, reviews, and responds to employee safety related issues. 
  • Inspects facility, equipment and work areas for proper operation, safety requirements, and assure that prescribed repairs are accomplished.   
  • Helps coordinate emergency response drills and/or emergency evacuation plans.
  • Recognizes and reinforces safe work procedures. Displays knowledge of AK Tube’s safe work practices through communication with others, safe work performance, and ability to lead others by example. 
  • Maintains working knowledge of the facility operation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Safety department or management.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer 5 years experience in manufacturing. 
  • Willingness to work a flexible Schedule, including overtime, different shifts and weekends as required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Strong leadership skills: ability to earn respect, promote teamwork, and leads by example.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
